Kennet in Bank Hall Dry Dock

After a season in which Kennet opened to the Public on the east side of the Canal at Saltaire, Skipton, Salterforth and Burnley she headed into dry dock at Bank Hall, Burnley.

Kennet is now looking as “good as new” (as she did at her relaunch in 2016) after a full survey, repairs to her tiller, bottom blacking and full repaint. This being the last part of Kennet’s 6 yearly maintenance cycle, which includes a 3 year interim survey and bottom blacking.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the new owner and staff of the Bank Hall Dry Dock for their support at this time.

It is an expensive period for the Society and has left us with reduced reserves to carry over for the new 6 year maintenance cycle. If you would like to see Kennet continue her journey carrying her “cargo of heritage” along the Canal and open to the public then please consider joining the Society and volunteering to staff and or crew Kennet (no experience required – just a love of the Canal) or alternatively making a donation.
