Up and Running Again

Kennet at Saltaire

Kennet going to Saltaire Festival

Now the restrictions of the last 18 months have been relaxed, the Society is looking to the future. During this period we have taken the opportunity to renew the display area in the hold and looking forward to opening to the public.

The Society has attended events during June in Saltaire and Leeds using our Gazebo and we are now looking forward to taking Kennet to the Saltaire Festival. We are also planning to use our Gazebo on the Towpath. This is to give us more flexibility with displays on both the Towpath and in Kennet. It will be with appropriate Covid measures in place.

This will be the 1st opening of Kennet with her “new look” in the hold.

Kennet is moving from Greenberfield to Saltaire 15th – 17th September, to moor near the Bridge at the bottom of Victoria Road, next to “Titus” the Saltaire Trip Boat.

We are opening between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th September, before leaving on Monday 20th. This will see Kennet return to Greenberfield – Kennet’s home mooring.

This is a great opportunity to see the new displays about the heritage of Leeds & Liverpool Canal. For families there will be a simple quiz for the children to find the answers.

Looking forward to welcoming you to Kennet.
